BBC Radio Tackles Troy

January 16th, 2008 · 1 Comment · Performances and Events, Tales of Troy

BBC7 is re-staging Andrew Rissick’s three-part radio play “Troy”:

Andrew Rissick’s trilogy of plays [re-tells] the story of events leading up to, and following the fall of Troy. As the Trojan King and his wife expect their second son, the Gods warn that disaster looms if the child lives. The cast includes: Paul Scofield, Toby Stephens, Emma Fielding, Oliver Cotton, Ian Hogg, Michael Maloney, Geraldine Somerville, Julian Glover and Saeed Jaffrey. First broadcast in 1998, the director was Jeremy Mortimer.

From all reports it is a remarkable production, and well worth the lessen. The play is available for streaming on the BBC7 website for a week after being aired, but sadly not via Podcast, so I won’t be able to listen on my migration south from the snowy wilds of Wellesley.

I tried it several times yet during this week :(

    Thanks in advance,
