Thomas Makin, Descriptio Pennsylvaniae
This intermediate-level Latin commentary contains the Latin text of two sections of Thomas Makin’s poem (1-28 and 211–236) , English notes and a non-core vocabulary list, along with an introductory essays placing the project in its historical context. It was created by Z. Oglesby and M. Sweeney during the Spring 2017 Postclassical Latin seminar at Haverford College under the guidance of Professor Bret Mulligan. Additional notes on the description of Philadelphia (157–244) were created by the students in the Latin IV Honors class (2019) at Clearview Regional High School.
